Yvonne "2-D" Lee, age 69, from Fosston, MN passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 at Essentia Hospital in Fosston. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 5th at 11:00 AM at New Journey Church in Fosston with Pastor Skip Hansen officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the funeral at the church, and interment will be at Kingo Cemetery in Fosston. Sympathy messages may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Yvonne Faye Gravely was born to parents James and Dora (Rupp) Gravley in Belgrade, MN on February 15, 1942. She was raised on a farm near New London, MN and attended the rural country school for her first years of education. 2-D graduated from New London-Spicer High School in 1960 with high honors and received a scholarship to attend nursing school at Lutheran Deaconess Hospital in Minneapolis. Graduating with an RN degree with top honors in 1963, she worked for one year at Lutheran Deaconess before she married Marvin Lee on July 5, 1964. 2-D and Marvin moved to Wabasha, MN in 1964, where she worked as an RN at the local hospital. On March 21, 1966, their first son, David was born in Lake City, and that fall 2-D and Marvin moved to Fargo, N.D, where 2-D worked at the Dakota Hospital. In the fall of 1967, 2-D and Marvin moved to Faribault, MN where 2-D worked at Dist. 1 Hospital for several years. While they were in the Faribault area, John was born on October 7, 1967 and Rachel was born on March 7, 1970. In the fall of 1974, 2-D and Marvin purchased the family farm north of Fosston, MN where she has resided since. 2-D was very involved in the dairy farm operation, while also working at the Fosston Hospital for several years. It was during this busy time that her youngest son, Mark, was born on August 9, 1980. Thereafter, 2-D remained active in her nursing career until just before she passed away. She worked in several settings including the Group Homes of Fosston, the Pioneer Nursing Home in Erskine, MN and as a visiting nurse in the region. 2-D was very active within the church community serving many different roles over her lifetime. She had a strong belief in her risen Lord and leaned heavily on the promises in the Bible.On Friday, July 1, 2011 2-D passed away at Essentia Hospital in Fosston at the age of 69 years.2-D is survived by her husband, Marvin of Fosston; children, David (Laurel) Lee of Basel, Switzerland, John (Kim) Lee of Sioux Falls, SD, Rachel (Gary Gylten) Lee of Northwood, ND, and Mark Lee of Fosston; grandchildren, Annika, Karin, Erik, Orrenzo, Haley, Leah and friend Kevin, Ariel, Aletta and Krister; and great grandchild, Kasey. Also surviving are her siblings, Gene (Rita) Gravley of New London, Jon (Kathy) Gravley of Mountain View, CA, Suzanne (Tyrone) Helland of Maricopa, AZ, and Mark (Linda) Gravley of New London. 2-D was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Larry Gravley.
