Yvonne Dake, age 80 of Erskine, MN and formerly of Blaine, MN, passed away on Thursday (November 27th) at First Care Hospital in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday (November 29th) at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center Chapel with Richard Raschke and Caleb Dunham officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, rural McIntosh. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Pioneer Home. She grew up in Otsego, Minnesota, graduated from Elk River High School and nurses training at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. When Yvonne was a young child, her parents heard the Gospel story of Jesus; promises that she held dear to her heart and carried with her throughout her life.She was united in marriage to LeRoy Dake on August 30, 1948. Following their marriage, they lived in Dassel, Lester Prairie and Blaine, Minnesota. Yvonne worked part time as a registered nurse and raised her family. Together they moved to the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in July of 2008. Yvonne loved her dogs, traveling, following the weather and her family.Survivors include her husband of 60 years, LeRoy; three children, Ernest (Carolyn) Dake of Duluth, GA, Virginia (Larry) McCorkell of Blaine, MN, and Larry (Sherry) Dake of Brooks, MN; five grandchildren, Gregory Dake of Durham, NC, Suzanne McCorkell of Greensboro, NC, Jennifer Horne of Madison, AL, Sarah Steinhauer of Wannaska, MN, and Amy Harrison of Crookston, MN; and four great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Beatrice Hough; and one brother, Orin LaPice.Pallbearers will be Gregory Dake, Jennifer Horne, Amy Harrison, Ken Harrison, Sarah Steinhauer, Michael Steinhauer, and Suzanne McCorkell.
