William "Bill" Hangsleben, age 69, of McIntosh, MN passed away on Sunday (March 15th) at First Care Hospital in Fosston, MN. Memorial services and interment will be held at a later date. Arrangemetns are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.William Lincoln Hangsleben was born on February 12, 1940 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to parents Walter and Viola (Gosch) Hangsleben. He attended East Grand Forks schools until 1954 when his family moved to Pinewood, Minnesota. He attended Bemidji High School, graduating in 1958. Bill was united in marriage to Colleen Fosse on November 25, 1961 in McIntosh, Minnesota. Bill farmed and logged in the McIntosh and Bagley areas. They have lived in rural McIntosh since Bill's retirement in 1999.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and growing melons and roses. He was accomplished in iron work, welding, and fabricating. He had an exceptional gift for carpentry and furniture making. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events.Bill passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at First Care Hospital in Fosston at the age of 69 years.Survivors include his wife, Colleen of McIntosh; his daughter, Terri Knutson and her husband, Terry of Bagley, MN; three grandchildren, Daniel Knutson and his wife, Toko in military service; Amanda Knutson and Luke Knutson, both of Bagley, MN; six brothers and sisters, Ruth Simpson of Grand Forks, ND, Mary Ann Ohman of Fargo, ND, Judy Halvorson of Sioux Falls, SD, Robert Hangsleben of Sierra Vista, AZ, Fred (Linda) Hangsleben of Solway, MN, and Walter "Rocky" (Joyce) Hangsleben of Solway, MN; one sister-in-law, Bobbi Hangsleben of East Grand Forks, MN; and one brother-in-law, James (Mary) Fosse of Buffalo, MN. Numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins also survive.He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jack.
