Warren Anderson, age 78, of Fosston, passed away on Sunday (April 11th) surrounded by his family under the care of First Care Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday (April 15th) at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. John Dalen officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Wednesday (April 14th) and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday, all at Kingo Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Warren Charles Anderson was born on February 26, 1932 in Bagley, Minnesota the son of Martin C. and Laura (Strand) Anderson. He was raised in the Bagley/Fosston area until the family moved to Silverton, Oregon where he graduated from high school in 1949. After graduation, the family moved back to the Fosston area. As a young man, Warren went into partnership with brothers Robert and Norman. They started Anderson Brothers Contractors of Fosston, Incorporated, building roads all over northern Minnesota.On June 6, 1953, Warren was united in marriage to Mavis E. Stavig of Bagley. In 1986 he retired from the construction business. Warren was active in the community and involved in several organizations. He was a charter member of the Fosston-Lengby Lions Club, as well as volunteer fireman for the Fosston Fire Department. His interest was in his family, fishing, hunting, flying, and golfing. He was also a member of Kingo Lutheran Church and served on the church council. He is survived by his wife, Mavis of Fosston; four children, Bruce of Minnetonka, MN and his family, Bryant, Lauren, and Derek; Lorae (Rick) Roed of Fosston and their family, Anna and Erik; James (fiancé, Paula) of Maple Grove, MN and son, Ryan; and Charles (Andrea) of Fosston and their family, Gretchen, Brittany (Mike Schmidt) of Alexandria, MN and their daughter, Grace.Also surviving are his sister, Mae (Harold) Sielert of Mesa, AZ; and brother, Norman (Ruth) Anderson of Fosston; and sister-in-law, Aldora Anderson of Fosston.He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert; and one grandchild, Christopher Roed.Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Warren's family and friends.Active Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Bryant Anderson, Lauren Anderson, Derek Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Brittany Schmidt, Gretchen Anderson, Anna Roed, and Erik Roed.
