Wallace Olson, age 80, of Grafton, ND and formerly of Fosston, MN, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Unity Hospital in Grafton. A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 25th, at Brandsvold Cemetery, rural Fosston, with the Rev. Jane Ekholm officiating. All are welcome to attend. Wallace H. Olson was born March 17, 1940 in Fosston, MN the son of the late Henry and JoAnn (Hove) Olson. He grew up and attended school in Fosston. He graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead with a Master’s degree in education. Following his education he moved to Glasgow, MT where he taught school for two years. He moved to Grafton, ND and taught here until his retirement. Wally was active in coaching youth sports and the high school track team.
He was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church, Fair Oaks Golf Club, Concordia College Boosters and was a volunteer at the Park River Bible Camp. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Twins, Gophers, and the Grafton Spoilers. He enjoyed spending time with his morning coffee group.
Wallace is survived by his sister, Janet Olson, Fosston, MN; sister-in-law, Micki Olson, Edina, MN; nieces and nephew: Jennifer Olson, Apple Valley, MN; Joseph (Andrea) Olson and their son Otto, San Diego, CA; Ellen Widstrand, Moorhead, MN. He is also survived by several cousins and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, Walter and two sisters: Lorna and Beverly.
