Vernon Christianson, age 67, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Sunday (February 17th) at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston, MN. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday (February 22nd) at the McIntosh Community Center in McIntosh with the Rev. Aage Carlsen officiating. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the Community Center. Military honors will be conducted by the McIntosh V.F.W. Post #6891 and the National Guard Honors Team. Vernon attended and graduated from Oklee High School in 1964. Vernon served in the United States Navy from July, 1964 through 1968. Upon his return home, he was united in marriage with Linda Domier on November 9, 1968. Vernon worked various construction jobs until 1989 when he began working on the assembly line for Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls, MN, until his retirement in 2010.Vernon enjoyed visiting with family and friends, driving snowmobile, fishing, hunting, gardening, cutting wood and driving around with his beloved dog Josie.Vernon is survived by his wife Linda of McIntosh, sons Rob (Sherri) Christianson of Fosston, MN and Randy (Julie) Christianson of McIntosh, MN; his mother, Eleanor Christianson of Oklee, MN; brother Darryl of Fargo, ND; sisters Marcy (Gaylord) Offerdahl of Martinsberg, WV and Shirley (Bill) Monaghan of Sun City, AZ; grandchildren, Tara (Kyle), Brooke, Shania, Brandon, Zachary, and Connor as well as his nieces and nephews. Vernon was preceded in death by his father Herbert, brother Jerome, father-in-law Lloyd Domier and mother-in-law Irene Domier.
