Verniz Jeanette Anderson was born on November 13, 1921 to parents Henry and Ellen Anderson at their farm south of Mentor, MN, on the shores of Maple Lake. The family attended Broderheim Lutheran Church (rural Erskine, MN), and later Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor where Verniz was confirmed. She attended Mentor Public School, Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, and Nursing School at Bethesda Hospital in Crookston, MN. On May 4, 1951 Verniz married Kenneth Jore, a widower, whom she began dating through the encouragement of Pastor Art Grimstad. She had an immediate family as she became mother to Kenneth's three children, Daniel, David, and Judith. Two more children, Philip and Paul, were born to this family. Verniz and Kenneth resided in McIntosh, MN for 65 years. Verniz was employed as a nurse at Bethesda in Crookston, Riverside Board & Care, Mac Manor Nursing Home and Pioneer Memorial Home until retirement. Verniz and Ken moved to Poplar Meadows Assisted Living in McIntosh, and then to McIntosh Senior Living where she passed away on July 26, 2016, at the age of 94. Verniz enjoyed participating in Christian Women's, Homemakers, Garden Club and Mac Booster Club. As a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church she taught Sunday School, was a Youth Advisor and active with WELCA. She hosted and attended many luncheons with lady friends. Much joy came from loving and caring for children and grandchildren and they came to love her laughter as did so many. She found pleasure working in her flower beds, capturing beauty in oil painting, baking, knitting, sewing, and swimming at Maple Lake. Many years included a family trip and time attending Bible Camps. Verniz stated, "Jesus is my comfort, my staff; my comforter and guide." She is survived by her five children: Daniel (Cheryl) Jore of McIntosh, MN, David (Judith) Jore of Roseville, MN, Judith (Rodney) Sprung of Ortonville, MN , Philip (C'Dale) Jore of Williston, ND, and Paul (Sandra) Jore of McIntosh, MN, as well as 14 grandchildren, Timothy, Nathan, Benjamin and Andrew Jore, Joshua, Jonathan, Anna and Elizabeth Jore, Rachel Sprung, Karli Keck and Schatzi Trones, and Kyle and Adam Jore and Siri Vigoren, and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Jore, parents Henry and Ellen (Skiple) Anderson, her sisters Elba Hova, Myrtle Hoel, Josie Anderson and Eunice Anderson, brother William Anderson, nieces SanToy Farder and Donna Sveningson, and nephew Vernon Hova and great-granddaughter Ariana Jore.
