Vern Tangen

Vern Tangen, age 59, of Fosston, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 6th, at Essentia Hospital in Fosston. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 16th, at New Journey Church in Fosston with Pastors Jarred LeBron and Tyler Stynsberg officiating. Inurnment will be in the Columbarium at Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Fosston. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Vern was born in Bagley, to Anna and Harold Tangen on June 2, 1962. He had an older sister named, Artis who passed away at 59 years old. When Anna was pregnant with Vern her daughter Artis was pregnant with Shelly (his niece) so Vern and his niece were the same age, they played a lot together while growing up. He began school in a country School, then got put into a public School. He worked with his dad splitting and selling wood in his teen years. Vern lived next to a group of kids his age, who became his best buddies, as a teenager the group was called the Columbian cruisers. Vern worked at Hearts grocery store as a teen as well. He graduated from Fosston High School, he worked all his life. More places he worked were Marvin Windows, MDV, Sunopta to name a few. Vern was previously married and had 3 children with Julie.

Vern met Bridgette, who has 3 kids as well, Vern and Bridgette got married in 2015 and bought a house in Fosston in 2018, and lived to together until he passed December 6th 2021.
