Thomas "Dutch" Abele, age 95, from Fosston, MN passed away on Tuesday, November 30th at his home in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday (December 4th) at First English Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Dean Bell officiating. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Fosston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday (December 3rd) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Thomas Abele was born on September 18, 1915 in Sletten Township, rural Fosston, Minnesota to parents William and Mary (Thoma) Abele. He grew up and attended rural school near Fosston. He was united in marriage to Frances Schultz on September 28, 1940. After their marriage, they lived and raised their family in Fosston and Dutch worked at the Land O Lakes plant. Dutch was a dedicated employee of Land O Lakes for 32 years. After his retirement, he did carpentry work and painting around the area and enjoyed caring for his lawn. He especially enjoyed mowing the grass. Dutch and Frances celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year, and he was a faithful member of First English Lutheran Church in Fosston. On Tuesday, November 30, 2010 Thomas "Dutch" Abele passed away at his home in Fosston at the age of 95 years.Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Frances of Fosston; one daughter, Carol Abele of Fosston; one son, Lowell Abele of Hugo, MN; daughter-in-law, Marie Abele of Minneapolis, MN; grandsons, David (Desire`) Abele of Minneapolis, and Mikel Abele of Minneapolis; granddaughter, Shelly (Rob) Heimback and their daughters, Ava and Karly of Hugo, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Harris Abele; two sisters, Frances Schacher and Margaret Lindberg; and two brothers, John and Bernard Abele.
