Therese "Tese" Lucier, age 50, of rural Gary, MN, and formerly of Erskine, MN, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday (March 17th) at her home. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday (March 28th) at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with the Rev. Bud Johnson and Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Brooks, MN in the spring. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Therese Joan Mayer Lucier was born to Alfred and Frances (LeBlanc) Mayer on May 10, 1958 in Sacramento, California. She attended several schools during her life in England and Greece while her father was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Upon moving to Erskine, Minnesota in 1967, she attended school in Erskine and obtained her GED. She attended Thief River Falls AVTI and received her degree in cosmetology. She worked as a cosmetologist for a local salon before opening her own, "Tese's Salon" also in Erskine. In 1974, she was united in marriage to Bruce Haaven and together they had a daughter, Christina Marie Haaven. She was married to Scott Hanson. In 1994, she married Lou Lucier and moved to his home in Issaquah, Washington and they had a son, Beau Gerhard Lucier. Therese resided there for about ten years before eventually returning to Erskine until her recent move to Gary, Minnesota. Therese was a spontaneous and adventurous gal who loved to meet new people and try new things. Some of her many hobbies included hunting, snowmobiling, skiing, bird watching, traveling and gardening. Mostly she loved to sit around with close family and friends visiting.Tese's Salon gave her great pride and she enjoyed her work very much. She grew to love her staff and clients and these people have been a major part of her life. Something that everyone will remember about Tese is that she always had a coffee cup in hand and was more often than not....late!Tese is survived by her daughter Tina Haaven (Jim Farstad) of Warren, MN; and son Beau Lucier of Gary, MN and Tacoma, WA; Grandchildren Thea (5), Eli (4), Jeb (3) and Sadie (1) Haaven-Farstad; siblings, Elizabeth (Allen) Jenson of Erskine, MN, Robert (Sandy) Mayer Erskine, MN, Laura Martin of Havre, Montana, Ann (Shawn) Hamre of Erskine, MN, and Alfred, Jr. (Tina) Mayer of Erskine. Many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews also survive.Therese was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Frances Mayer; and grand-parents Phillip and Clara LeBlanc and Fred and Minnie Mayer.
