Teresa Lynn Anderson was born on November 10, 1965, in Battle Creek, Michigan to parents Maynard and Linda (Aspen) Anderson. She began her life in Michigan while her father was in the military. The family moved while Teresa was a young girl to Fosston and then to Clearbrook and graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1984. After high school, she attended the University of Minnesota Crookston, focusing on Equestrian Studies. Teresa’s plans to return to UMC were cut short when she welcomed her first child, Jason. She was married to Brian Beckstrand and three more children were born, Amber, Jenna, and Andrew.

Fate has a way of working out as she married the love of her life, Ricky Kappedal, on April 30, 2005. Teresa worked at the Bagley School as a paraprofessional and then for several years at Digi-Key in Thief River Falls, MN.

Teresa had a deep love for serving and helping people. Throughthe current time, she has been working for White Earth Human Services in Naytahwaush, MN. She was fiercely dedicated and passionate about helping underserved individuals and families. And gave much of herself to fulfill that ambition.

Teresa had many interests. Anyone who knew Theresa knowsthat another passion of hers was quilting. She made and gave away her quilts to many of her family and friends. All while running a successful Custom Quilting business. Thousands of hours were spent behind the sewing machine. She and Ricky were truly partners on their farm, raising beef cattle, pigs, and horses. She also had many fond memories of road trips with Ricky (free-spirited jump in the car and go for the day) and taking the children camping at Lake Bronson. Most of all, Teresa cherished time spent with family and friends. Time with important people in her life was much more important than any material objects or possessions. She will be oh so dearly missedby those who encountered her kind spirit.

Following a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Teresa passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and loved ones on Monday, September 2, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo at the age of 58 years.
