Susan Agnes, age 58, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Sunday (December 31st) at Merit Care Hospital in Fargo, ND. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday (January 6th) at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fosston with Father Dave Super presiding. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday (January 5th) and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday, all at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Family condolences may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Susan Marie Naastad was born on February 6, 1948 in Baldwin, Wisconsin to parents Charlotte (Weeks) Naastad and stepfather, Vernon Naastad. She was baptized along with her brothers and sisters at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston. The Naastad family moved to Fosston from St. Paul in 1961.Susan was united in marriage to Ernest Royal Agnes, Sr. on April 10, 1966 in Gary, Indiana. She joined the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Fosston on August 17, 1968. Susan tended to her home, raising and loving her seven children. She also held several jobs over the years; most recently her employment was at Minnesota Dehydrated Vegetables in Fosston. She was a member of the St. Mary's Ladies Guild and also the Lioness' Club as the tail twister.She liked to sew, especially prom and baptismal dresses, flower girl dresses and blankets. She enjoyed shopping and was known as a bargain hunter. Susan also liked to make cakes for special occasions including weddings, baptisms, graduations and birthdays.Susan passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2006 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota at the age of 58 years, 10 months and 25 days.She is survived by her seven children, Cathie (Tom) Lofstrand of Salol, MN, Ernie Agnes, Jr. of Fosston, Matt (Colleen) Agnes of Fosston, Chris (LeAnn) Agnes of Bagley, MN, Theresa (Scott) Walsh of Fosston, Sarah Agnes of Fosston, and Aimee Agnes of Thief River Falls, MN; 13 grandchildren, John, Amanda, Catherine, Mandy, Stephanie, Ann Marea, Monica, Mekah, Hannah, Abby Gail, Andrew, Odessah, and Colin.Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Chuck Naastad of Fosston, Ronald Naastad (special friend, Peggy Fangman) of Fosston, Jean Naastad of Clearbrook, MN, Loren (Shaunesi) Naastad of Reno, NV, and Sharon (Larry) Trandem of Fosston; and Godchild, Jessica Trandem; nieces, nephews and cousins and a granddog, George.She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, and fiancé, Allen Halland in 1997.Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Susan's grandchildrenActive Pallbearers will be Jared Kennedy, John Tangen, Vance Naastad, Dean Roy, Seth Molden, Brandon Naastad, and Joel Klinke.
