Steven Comer, age 51, of Mentor, MN, passed away on Monday (September 6th) at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday (September 11th) at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fosston with Father Dave Super presiding. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Fosston. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. As a boy he moved with his family to the Mentor, Minnesota area. He attended school in Fertile, Minnesota and Mentor, graduating from Mentor High School in 1977. Following high school, Steve began employment at American Crystal Sugar in Crookston, Minnesota. He was a dedicated employee at American Crystal for nearly 30 years. Currently, Steve was residing in Woodside Township, rural Mentor. Steve enjoyed driving around the area looking at scenery and spending time with family and friends.Steve passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota at the age of 51 years, seven months, and 22 days.Survivors include his father, Alvin Comer of Mentor; his uncle, Russell Comer of Fosston, MN; aunt, Shirley (Lewis) Doyle of Fridley, MN; two nieces, Mary (Tim) Triggs of Two Harbors, MN, and Lorie (Dave) Blomseth of Detroit Lakes, MN; and one nephew, Kevin McDougall of Bagley, MN; three great nieces, Jasmine Triggs, Lainee (Michael) Sundberg, and Cammie Triggs; and two great nephews, Wyatt and Dylan Blomseth. Cousins also survive.He was preceded in death by his mother; one brother, Allen; and sister, Barbara.
