Sherry Venem, age 54, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Sunday (September 28th) at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (October 3rd) at Immanuel Lutheran Church in McIntosh with the Rev. Mark Peske officiating. Interment will be in Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Fosston, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday (October 2nd) at the McIntosh Community Center in McIntosh. There will also be visitation for one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home, serving McIntosh and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com. Sherrylyn Ercel Macho was born August 3rd, 1960 to parents Don and Janice Macho in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Fosston High School in 1978 and attended college at UMC for veterinary assistant. Sherry was united in marriage to Terry Venem on April 27th, 1981 in Fosston, MN. They made their home near McIntosh in 1983. They started a large pig farm there, while she was also helping her father on the family farm for many years. She was also a bartender for 20 plus years at the local establishments. Sherry enjoyed anything to do with animals and being outdoors, especially her horses. She was very active in 4H, rodeos and horse shows as a child and young adult. She always enjoyed being around her friends and family. On Sunday, September 28th, 2014 Sherry passed away at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND at the age of 54 years. Survivors include her daughter Angie Venem (Ben Murawski) of Grand Forks, ND, son Jason Venem (Nicole Marcott) of East Grand Forks, MN, special friend Larry Haugen of McIntosh as well as many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband Terry Venem, mother Janice Macho, father Don Macho, brother Jody Macho and many other relatives.
