Selma Trandem, age 97, of Erskine, MN passed away on Thursday, September 17th at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd at 2:00 PM at Rodnes Lutheran Church, rural Erskine with Rev. Peter Satren officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the funeral at the church, and interment will be at the church cemetery. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine is in charge of the arrangements. Sympathy messages may be sent to carlinhoialmen.com.Selma O. Hagen was born on February 17, 1912 in Badger Township, rural Erskine, Minnesota to parents John and Johannah (Brown) Hagen. She grew up in the Erskine area and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Saron Lutheran Church, rural Erskine.On October 11, 1934 she was united in marriage to Helmer Trandem at the Maple Bay Parsonage by Rev. Iver Iverson. They made their home in Woodside Township for several years before moving into Erskine in 1976.She was a member of Rodnes Lutheran Church, rural Erskine.On Thursday, September 17, 2009 Selma Trandem passed away at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine at the age of 97 years.Survivors include two daughters, Beverly (Arthur) Blix of Erskine and JoAnn (Dean) Orn of Turtle Lake, WI; five grandchildren, Randy (fiancé Barbara Wright) Blix, Jeff (Liz) Blix, Laura (John) Parkhurst, Brad (Heidi) Blix and Brenda Johnson; 12 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; one sister, Florence Horn of Twin Valley, MN; one uncle, Bert Brown of Erskine; and several other relatives.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Helmer in 1999; three brothers; and eight sisters.
