Sandra DeFrang

Sandra DeFrang, age 43, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Thursday (April 12th) at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND from complications of diabetes. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday (April 21st) at the McIntosh Community Center in McIntosh with the Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. Interment will be in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery, McIntosh. Friends may call for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the community center. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home, serving McIntosh. Family condolences may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Sandra Jean DeFrang was born on December 26, 1963 at Great Lakes Naval Hospital in Great Lakes, Illinois to parents Douglas and Carole (Nelson) DeFrang. The family moved to McIntosh, Minnesota in the Fall of 1974. Sandra was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh and graduated from McIntosh-Winger High School in 1982. Following high school, she worked for a short time in Cody, Wyoming then returned to her roots in McIntosh. Her daughter, Lindsie, was born in August of 1987. Sandra spent the next 19 years caring for her daughter and her own health. Sandra liked to listen to Bon Jovi music, baking, cooking and enjoyed attending Lindsie's school activities. Sandra's classmates from high school meant a lot to her. The memories from her high school years and classmates brought her much joy!Sandra passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota from complications of diabetes at the age of 43 years, three months and 17 days.Survivors include her daughter, Lindsie of Erskine, MN; her mother, Carole DeFrang of Cass Lake, MN; three siblings, Tami (Rick) Hanson of Thief River Falls, MN, Dean (Susanne) DeFrang of Fosston, and Wendy Sue (Brian) Holtan of Brainerd, MN. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends also survive.She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents; and brother, David.Honorary Pallbearers will be Sandra's nephews, Matthew DeFrang, Jeremy Hanson, Nicholas DeFrang, Jesse DeFrang, and Tyler Holtan.
