Roxanne Sorenson

Roxanne Sorenson, age 65, of Fosston, MN, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on Saturday, February 15th, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22nd, at Samhold Lutheran Church in Gonvick with the Rev. Will Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Clover Township Cemetery, Leonard, MN, at a later date. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Roxanne Arlene Engler was born on June 11, 1959, to parents Ed and Alice Engler. She attended school in Gonvick and graduated from Gonvick High School. She was married to Terry Sorenson on June 17, 1977. Following their marriage, they lived on her father’s ranch north of Gonvick. They moved to Arnegard, North Dakota and then Tuttle, North Dakota before returning to the area to be closer to family. They moved to Fosston in 1993. Terry passed away October 17, 2023.

Roxanne worked for many years at First Care Nursing Home in Fosston as a CNA. She enjoyed her work and was loved taking care of people. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, yard work, cooking and especially spending time with her grandkids.

Survivors include her daughter, Nikki Sweno (Matt Smith) of Grand Rapids, MN; son, Jeremh (Becky) Sorenson of Buchanan, ND; four grandchildren, Kolby, Kaleb, Jayden and Brynn; father-in-law, Larry (Jeanne) Sorenson of Gonvick, MN; two sisters-in-law, Julie (Bob) Wagner of Gully, MN and Stacy Halvorson (Gordon Sather) of Gonvick, MN; nieces and nephews; and step-brothers, Cory (Debbie) Moy of Gonvick, MN, and Jeremy (Connie) Moy of Milaca, MN.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry; son, Jason; father, Eddie Engler; mother-in-law, Maxine Sorenson (Ted Hamm), and brother-in-law, Terry Halvorson.
