Roselyn Kolstad, age 82, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Saturday, December 4th, at Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10th, at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with the Rev. Michael Sletto officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, rural Erskine. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Roselyn Ann Wilson Kolstad was born on May 5, 1939, in Erskine, Minnesota to parents Lauritz and Clarice (Hatley) Wilson. She grew up on her family’s farm near Mentor, Minnesota and graduated from Mentor High School in 1957. After high school she started work at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine.
Rosalyn was united in marriage to Merle Kolstad on September 25, 1971. After their marriage, they lived on the farm they purchased north of Erskine. Rosie continued to work at Pioneer, a job she held for a total of 47 years.
Rosie loved gardening and always had a large garden. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a past member of Maple Lake Lutheran Church.
Though she never had children of her own, Rosie was blessed to have helped to raise many kids. They affectionately thought of their home as “boys town”.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Merle, of Erskine; brother, Russell Wilson of Erskine; 18 nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Ilayne Potucek of Warren and Valerie Kolstad of Fargo, ND; brothers-in-law, Wayne (Lois) Kolstad of Grand Forks, ND, Calvin Kolstad of Erskine, and Dale (Susie) Kolstad of PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ronald Wilson; sister, Lucille Hamre; nephew, Chad Kolstad; sisters-in-law, Lois Wilson and Sherilyn Kolstad; brothers-in-law, Jack Potucek and Gary Kolstad; and father and mother-in-law, Martin and Evelyn Kolstad.
