Ronald Klinke, age 79, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Sunday, December 8th, at Centra Care St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston with the Rev. Jane Ekholm officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Lengby, at a later date. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Ronald Eugene Klinke was born on January 18, 1940 in Bagley, Minnesota to parents Allen and Margaret (Nelson) Klinke. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lengby. He attended grade school at the Lengby School and then graduated from Fosston High School. Ronald was united in marriage to Janet Marie Aspen on October 29, 1960 at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston. After their marriage, they lived in Lengby for five years. In 1965, they made their home and raised their family on their farm in Columbia Township. Over the years, they raised a variety of crops and livestock. Ronnie worked hard at whatever he set out to do and he passed that strong work ethic along to his children. Ronnie had a caring heart. Even though he could put on a gruff exterior, he had a heart of gold. He cared for numerous pets, including fish and birds (all in the house) throughout his life. His most special friend and companion was his parrot, Charger. They did everything together. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Janet; six children, Gail (Jeff) Moody of Fargo, ND, Denise (Junior) Coyer of Fosston, Leslie (Tracy) Klinke of Fosston, Rhonda Larson (Roger Hextell) of Lengby, Marcy (Trent) Grover of Bagley, MN, and Cory Klinke of Lengby; 13 grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Derek, Daniel, Lacy, Levi, Devin, Bailey, Taylor, Kayla, Cody, Collin, and Kyle; and 17 great grandchildren.Also surviving are three sisters, Lorna Snelling of Spokane, WA, Ranae (Bob) Davidson of Thief River Falls, MN, and Cheryl (Rick) Boutain of Moorhead, MN. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lance; two granddaughters, Tara Gail and Melissa Marie; one sister, Dawn; and four brothers, twin brother, Donald and Richard, Loren and Ross.
