Ronald Jeska, age 85, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Sunday, April 8th, at New Perspective of Waconia in Waconia, MN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14th, at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. John Ragan officiating. Interment will be in Kingo Lutheran Cemetery, Fosston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday, April 13th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Ronald Gene Jeska was born on October 6, 1932 in Fosston, Minnesota to parents, Archie and Orpha (Dahl) Jeska. After graduating from Fosston High School in 1950, he worked at the Fosston Cooperative Creamery, which led to a long career in dairy processing.Ron entered the United States Army in 1953 and served for two years, which included time in Germany. Ron married Darlene Mineheine on July 14, 1956 in Lengby, MN; together they lived and raised their three children in Fosston, MN. After Darlene passed away in 2000, Ron taught himself how to cook and became an excellent lefse-maker and cookie-baker, much to the delight of his grandchildren!Ron loved his family, friends, church and Fosston. He enjoyed visiting and especially appreciated the camaraderie of his coffee buddies. He was always up to traveling and was open to exploring wherever any one of his children wanted to go. He was an active member of Kingo Lutheran Church where he served as custodian for 45 years. Ron enjoyed music and was a devoted member of Kingo's choir. He clearly received as many blessings as he gave to others through his volunteer service to Meals on Wheels and Loaves & Fishes.Recently Ron moved into New Perspective Senior Living in Waconia, MN to be closer to his children. He passed away on April 8, 2018 after a year-long battle with cancer, surrounded by love and his three children. Survivors include his sons, Larry (Cheryl) of Marshall, MN and Jeff (Sara) of Waconia, MN; daughter Cindy of Edina, MN; two granddaughters; four grandsons; two brothers, Bob (Joanne), Grand Forks, ND and David, Plymouth, MN; many nieces and nephews.Ron was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darlene; and brother, Dale.
