Roland Habedank, age 78, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Saturday (November 29th) at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday (December 3rd) at Immanuel Lutheran Church in McIntosh with the Rev. Dean Bell and Rev. Josh Scheer officiating. Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, McIntosh. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday (December 2nd) at the McIntosh Community Center. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Habedank was born on June 10, 1930 in Madison, Wisconsin to Albert and Elsie (Eggers) Habedank. He moved to McIntosh, Minnesota in 1943. Roland married Marlene E. Polley on June 21, 1957. They lived on a farm north of McIntosh until 1978. Besides farming, Roland worked at Abrahamson's hardware store servicing appliances. He also operated an electric motor repair and rewind business.Roland was very active in Immanuel Lutheran Church, holding many offices, teaching bible classes, and teaching Sunday school. He was also active in the community, being a member of Lions for many years, MAC's, chairman of the school board, and mayor of McIntosh for two terms. Roland enjoyed singing in the church choir and the community Cantata's at Easter.Roland was known for his sense of humor, pulling practical jokes and making many people laugh. He was also a great teacher, helping others learn about anything from electricity to Latin. He was a jack of all trades, having built three houses, and became a highly skilled woodworker in retirement.Roland passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine at the age of 78 years, five months and 19 days.Survivors include his wife Marlene of McIntosh; four daughters, Laura Stanley of Derby, KS, Diane Habedank of Grand Forks, ND, and Dr. Marilyn (Rodney) Klug of Grand Forks, ND, and Heidi (William) Raymond of Clearwater, FL; one sister, Delores (Charles) Aakre of Clearbrook, MN; four grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Albert Jr.Honorary Pallbearers will be John Polley, Harold Thompson, Wayne Gustafson, Ben Ramsey, Lyle Puffe, Gerald Polley, Rick Habedank, and Donn Landsverk.Active Pallbearers will be Dan Aakre, Ronn Landsverk, Albert Plante, Clay Syverson, Nick DeFrang, and Mark Thompson.
