Rodney Morinville

Rodney Morinville, age 65, of Erskine, MN and formerly of the Brooks/Oklee area, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 4^th, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11^th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Erskine. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Rodney Lawrence Morinville was born on September 13, 1957, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota to parents Lawrence and Yvonne (Mercil) Morinville. He grew up near Brooks and graduated from Oklee High School.

Following high school, Rod went to work in the oil fields in Wyoming, North Dakota and Colorado. He eventually moved back to the home farm near Brooks where he farmed for many years. During this time, he also started NYB, Inc., a pickup sprayer manufacturing business, with his brother, Perry. Later, he went back and forth from Texas to Minnesota. While in Minnesota, he worked at Minnesota Dehydrated Vegetables in Fosston and retired in Erskine.

Rod liked to ride motorcycles, golf and read. He had the gift of gab and enjoyed sitting around with family and friends shooting the breeze. He always made others laugh and feel comfortable and welcome in the conversation. 

He is survived by his four children, Shane (Lindsay) Morinville of Florence, MT, Chassity (Andrew) Ross of Thornton, CO, Kyle (Yvonne) Morinville of Henderson, CO, and Chad (Rebecca) Morinville of Montevideo, MN; 10 grandchildren, Dahlila Morinville, Thia Morinville, Miles Ross, Blakely Ross, Presly Morinville, Kenzo Morinville, Sunny Morinville, Madisyn Morinville, Abigail Morinville, and Eliana Morinville; five siblings, Linda (LD) Griewing of Coeur d’Alene, ID, Barb (Dave) Rodahl of Thief River Falls, MN, Sharleen Morinville of Brooks, MN, Valerie (Ross) Bruggeman of Terrebonne, MN, and Perry (Joyce) Morinville of Brooks, MN. Rod is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Yvonne Morinville and son, Preston Morinville.
