Ricky "Rino" Simmons, age 64, of Crookston, MN, passed away on Monday, February 20th, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4th, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fosston with Father JohnMelkies Suvakeen presiding. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Fosston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday, March 3rd, and for one hour prior to the Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 4th. All visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fosston. He grew up and attended school in Karlstad and Crookston. He attended the AVTI in East Grand Forks, Minnesota where he graduated in restaurant management. He worked at the M & H in Crookston, Florida and Grand Forks, spending several years as manager. Ricky was united in marriage to Audrey Curfman on August 6, 1983 in Fisher, Minnesota. Together they had three sons, David, Darren and Dustin and a step-daughter, Jodi. They spent many summers at the lake taking care of Dusty's special needs, enjoying the outdoors, fishing and pontooning. Audrey passed away on September of 2012 . Ricky was currently residing in Crookston. He loved watching football, especially the Vikings. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Ricky passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks at the age of 64 years.Survivors include his sons, David (Jennifer) Simmons of West Fargo, ND, and Darren (Laura) Simmons of Fosston, MN; daughter, Jodi Simpkins; two grandchildren, Henry and Owen Simmons and one grandchild on the way; siblings, Rich (Raenelle) Simmons, Redgie "Buck" (Pam) Simmons, and Mark (Bonnie) Simmons; and one sister, Rosalie Simmons; brother and sisters-in-law, Alice (Beans) Wander, Tim (Donna) Curfman, Ted (Jan) Curfman, Theresa (Marvin) Stark, Sharol (Rick) Mason, Paul (Deb) Curfman, and Evelyn (Maurus) Karboviak. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey; son, Dusty in 2008; his parents; step-father, Jerome "Crow" Boucher; foster brother, Peter Kuchan, Jr.; mother-in-law, Mary Motl; father-in-law, Glenn Curfman; and nephew, J.R.
