Peggy Lynn Pedersen was born on January 21, 1952 in Emmetsburg, Iowa to parents Andrew and Elizabeth Callen Pedersen. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Rolfe, Iowa. She attended school in Rolfe, graduating from Rolfe Community High School in 1970. She moved to Minnesota from Iowa in 1976 and raised her kids in Glenwood, Minnesota. She has been in a relationship with the love of her life, Ron Naastad, since 1997. Peggy was a hard worker and held various jobs throughout her life. She had been a waitress, various farm and field work including detasseling corn, walking beans, planting potatoes, supervising migrant crews loading harvested potatoes to the warehouse, and raised livestock. She also worked on a fire clean up crew and was a bartender, a machine/equipment assembler/painter and finally a secretary/bookkeeper/dispatcher for a local trucking company. Peggy liked going to auctions and rummage sales. Rescuing and restoring yard ornaments and inventing some other her own out of junk. She loved hiking and geo-caching with her kids and grandkids, and just generally loved being outside for all seasons. She also liked to raise vegetables and herbs. She preserved all by canning, freezing, dehydrating and loved to share with everyone. Peggy would be described as a good ol corn fed Iowa farm girl - stubborn/VERY stubborn, a good cook, hard worker, creative, a bit of a MacGyver, a fan of DIY, conservationist and naturalist, and frugal/cheap. She dearly loved her family. She is survived by the love of her life and soul mate, Ronald Naastad of Fosston; two daughters, Vicki Fangman of Williston, ND, and Michele (Shane) Landmark of Benson, MN; one son, Greg (Jen) Fangman of Sartell, MN; step daughter, Shannon (Dave) Larson of West Fargo, ND; stepson, Ron, Jr. (Shelly) Naastad of Placerville, CA; grandchildren, Margo Anderson, Brook and Levi Landmark, Zachary and Braydon Fangman, Chad Naastad, John Phillips, and Erin, Lindsey, and Nicholas Anderson; and one great grandchild, Parker Lee Olson. Also surviving are two brothers, David (Judy) Pedersen and Chris (Deb) Pedersen and their families; and one sister, Susan (Dennis) Schmoker and their family. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandbaby twins; her grandparents, Thora and Christian Pedersen; grandparents, Priscilla and Charles Callen; and her parents, Elizabeth and Andrew Pederdsen. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Grand Forks Cancer Center and Essentia Health facilities and the Essentia Home Health and Hospice for their wonderful work with Peggy. Peggys childrens special message in remembrance of their mom - Be kind and loving to one another, do for others whenever you can, live within your means, and dont leave this world with any regrets.
