Patricia "Patty" Erickson, age 84 of Erskine, MN passed away on Tuesday, April 28th at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. A time of gathering for family and friends will be held for one hour before the memorial service at the church on Monday morning. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.carlinhoialmen.com.Patricia Jeul Erickson was born on August 30, 1930 in Mahnomen, MN to parents Leslie and Eldora (Chilton) Varty. Patty grew up in Mahnomen, was baptized and confirmed in St. Michaels Catholic Church, and graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1948.She was united in marriage to Alton Erickson on December 4, 1950 in Erskine, MN. They made their home on the family farm on Bradley Lake in Knute Township, and have remained on the farm for 64 years.Patty and Alton raised ten children together. Patty was a homemaker but also helped in the fields during harvest and planting season. Once the children were grown she decided to take a job at Pioneer Memorial Care Center as a nursing assistant and worked there for 17 years.Patty was passionate about her children and grandchildren, and she enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors. If you needed help Patty was always there. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and honorary member of Ladies Aide.On Tuesday, April 28, 2015 Patty passed away at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine at the age of 84 years.Survivors include her husband Alton of 64 years; eight daughters, Paula (Jim) Caldwell, Eldora (Bryan) Paradis, Karlene (Larry) Lightfoot, Lesly (Lee) Tradewell, Ardis (Tal) Lucken, Melisa (Erik) Nymann, Barb (Torrey) Erickson and Wendy Smeby. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; sisters, Tela Bemis and Lois Otto; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Stephen, Sam and Eric; and two brothers and two sisters.Patty will be remembered by her love and compassion for her family, her giving heart, and love for her friends and neighbors.May God Bless the memory of Patricia "Patty" Erickson
