Orville Haugen, age 87, of Gully, MN, passed away on Saturday (May 16th) at the Good Samaritan Center in Clearbrook, MN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (May 20th) at Elim Lutheran Brethren Church in Clearbrook, MN with the Rev. Tom Seaver officiating. Interment will be in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Gully at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the church. Military honors will be provided by the Gonvick American Legion Post #304 and the Trail VFW Post #6426. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and sympathy messages may be held at carlinhoialmen.com.Orville was born on January 22, 1922 to Ole and Florence (Johnson) Haugen in Gonvick, Minnesota. He proudly served in the United States Army, stationed in Japan during World War II. He was a member of the Gonvick American Legion Post #304 and the Trail V.F.W. Post #6426. He was united in marriage to Elaine Peterson on January 15, 1948. He resided in the Gonvick and Gully area where he enjoyed farming, logging, gardening, and was self-employed in water and sewer, building demolition, and excavation business.Orville enjoyed spending time with his family and looked forward to family gatherings at the farm. He loved playing horseshoes, cards and shaking dice at the Gully Café with his coffee buddies.Orville passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center in Clearbrook at the age of 87 years.He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Clearbrook; children, Dallas of East Grand Forks, MN, David (Debra) of Ozark, MO, Delaine (Bill) Bjerke of Savage, MN, Diane (Gary) Dawson of Prior Lake, MN, Darrell of Shevlin, MN, Dale of Owatonna, MN, Gary of Prior Lake, MN, Gerald (Stephanie) of Farmington, MN, Glen (Carol) of Elk River, MN, Gloria (Greg) Peterson of Alexandria, MN, Orvin of Gully, and Owen (Julie) of Gonvick, MN; 27 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Emma (Albert) Satran of Clearbrook, MN, Dorothy Lindgren of Park River, ND; and brother, Leif (DeeDee) Haugen of Bagley, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arthur; and sister, Doris Larson.
