Ordelle Beckett

Ordelle Del Beckett, age 65, of Bagley, MN, passed away on Saturday (December 21st) at Essentia Hospital in Fosston after a courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday (April 12th) at the American Legion Auditorium in Bagley with the Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. Ordelle Joyce Jordahl was born on August 31, 1948 in Bagley, Minnesota to parents John and Olga (Oien) Jordahl. She spent her early years in Bagley and then moved to Franklin, Massachusetts in 1965, graduating from high school there in 1966. It was also in Franklin that Ordelle met the love of her life, Richard Beckett. They were united in marriage in Franklin on January 27, 1968. Prior to and after her marriage, Ordelle worked as a caregiver at the Wrentham State Hospital in Wrentham, Massachusetts. After Richard returned home from the service in Vietnam, they returned to Franklin for several years. She returned to her job at Wrentham State Hospital until they moved to Bagley in June of 1979. Del was an active and caring person, taking care of her family, and working at several places in Bagley, including Food-n-Fuel, Greensview Nursing Home, the American Legion, Team Industries, and the DAC. She began her battle with cancer on February 9, 2012. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Bagley. Del loved gardening, reading, antiques, animals of all kinds and was a very creative person. Her favorite times were spent with her family and friends and she will be dearly missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Richard Beckett of Bagley; four children, Lori Ann Beckett of Puposki, MN, Richelle (Michael) Condon of Bismarck, ND, Scott Beckett of Bagley, and Jason (Erika) Beckett of Erskine, MN; brothers and sisters, Janet Jordahl Shegrud of Moorhead, MN, John Jordahl of Bagley, James (Shelly) Jordahl of East Grand Forks, MN, and Melinda (Brian) Larson of Fosston; 16 grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Bryant, Sean, Spencer, Alyssa, Owen, Izik, Austin, Christian, Melina, Zachary, Haven, Elizabeth, Aleisha, and Haylee; sister-in-law, Geraldine (Mike) Tavalone of Franklin, MA; and special friend, Theresa Johnson of Bagley. Nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Jordahl; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Elizabeth Beckett; aunt, Helena Flaherty of Franklin, MA; niece, Gaylene Lewis Smith; great niece, Molly Coutu; and brother-in-law, Dudley Shegrud.
