Olga Taflin

Olga Judith Taflin, age 98, of New Brighton, MN, and formerly of Fosston, MN, entered into heaven on Thursday, March 2nd, at Memory Care at Brightondale in New Brighton, MN. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11th, at New Journey Church in Fosston with the Rev. Josiah Hoagland officiating. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Fosston. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to New Journey Church, church Quilting Group, Missions, or Fosston Education Foundation (Olga Taflin Scholarship).She is survived by her daughters, Edith (John), Susan (Russ), Linda (Dave), and Karen (Terry); grandchildren, Heidi (Doug), Brian, Bruce, Isaac (Claudia), Julia (Chad), Caleb (Mackenzie), Joshua (Jen), and Dana (Susie); great grandchildren, Maya, Aubry, Elias, Riley, Montana, Hannah, Olivia, Reese, Ella, Ellorie, Greyson, Avery, Emerson, Noah, Adeline, Katie, Lilly, Anna; and two great-grandsons due in May.She was preceded in death by her husband, Axel; parents, Oscar and Julia Milene; brothers, Orvis and Kenneth; and sister, Agnes.Axel and Olga lived in Fosston their entire married life, raising their family and enjoying life in the community. Olga was a school cook for 31 years and often spoke of how much she enjoyed her job and the people in the schools. Olga moved to the Twin Cities in 2012 to be closer to her daughters and their families.
