Olga Ostenaa

Olga Ostenaa, age 95, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Wednesday, March 22nd, at McIntosh Senior Living. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1st, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh with the Rev. Gordon Syverson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home, serving McIntosh, and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinfuneral.com.Olga Christine Svien was born 1921 in King Township to proud parents Oscar and Selma Svien. Olga has been a happy person all of her life, she had to have had a smile on her face when she was born. She married Sidney Ostenaa in 1947 and they made their home in the McIntosh area they were blessed with their son DeWayne Ostenaa. Sidney passed away, along with DeWayne her son.Olga was a farmer's wife she was involved in the livestock production often milking cows, she helped raise pigs, beef cattle. The Ostenaa's raised certified seed potatoes and grain crops. She enjoyed making farmer lunches and brought them to the fields daily.She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and belonged to Our Savior's Lutheran church. She loved hymns and really any kind of music. She was a dancer and her favorite waltz was the Tennessee waltz. Sidney and Olga belonged to a local square dancing club. She always told friends and family that she loved to polka more than eat. Her dream at age 95 was to Polka one more time. Enjoyed traveling to California and Hawaii. Was a card player rummy and whist Belonged to homemakers club, worked at church functions and enjoyed baking. Loved to have coffee parties for friends and family.Her fishing adventures with Punky and Lois and Sidney at Lake of the Woods, she was always fishing for walleye, she did leave a few rods in the lake especially one rod of Punkies. She would fall asleep while fishing. Punky devised a way to secure the rod to Olga's wrist.The traits that Olga will be remembered most for are, she always acknowledged everyone, she remembered and greeted all she knew. Always thought of others first. She was a visitor and loved to hug, hold hands, she loved children. She would say Thank you and she taught others how to be gracious. One of her mottos was if you looked good, your day was going to go better. Always took pride in how she looked at 95 she was snappy dresser. Loved to have fun and laugh... Survived by Dtr in Law Lois Ostenaa, of McIntosh, Mn sister in law Lillian Enevold, Kalispell Mt. Many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Selma, Brother Joe (Bess) Svien and Ralph Svien, Sister Helen(Joe) Dyrdahl , Sister Marion( Orlan) Knutson, Husband Sidney Ostenaa ,son DeWayne Ostenaa.On March 22nd our Angel Olga was taken by the angels to her garden in heaven for her glorious reunion with her family and friends. She will be able to garden as she so enjoyed on earth. Blessed be her memory ...
