Nordean Salverson

Nordean Salverson, age 87, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Thursday, February 16^th, at Riverview Nursing Home in Crookston, MN. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25^th, at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with the Rev. Pam Thorson officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, rural Erskine, in the spring. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Nordean Dennis Salverson was born on May 17th, 1935 in Bygland Township near Fisher, Minnesota to parents Norman and Emma (Anderson) Salverson. Nordean attended a one-room country school, and after completing 8th grade, went to work for farmers around the Grand Forks area, followed by a long career in construction, primarily as a cement finisher. Nordean loved to point out various jobs that he had worked on and was proud to have been involved with those projects, particularly the Chester Fritz Auditorium and the UND Fieldhouse.

Nordean loved being outdoors, going camping, attending concerts, or just simply sitting around a fire in the evening.

Nordean was also a very good pool player and enjoyed playing league pool.

Nordean was preceeded in death by his parents, Norman and Emma; wife, Cindy; daughter, Christine; brothers, Edward, Orville, and Sherman; and sisters, Irene, Janet, and Ann.

Nordean is survived by his sons, Nathan and Rick; daughters, Carrie and Lizabeth; brother, Allan; sisters, Theresa, Evelyn, Linda , May, and Mary; as well as twelve grandchildren; and four great -grandchildren.
