Nancy Omodt, age 80, from Lengby, MN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 6th at Essentia Health First Care Living Center in Fosston, MN. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 17th at 10:30 a.m. at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Lengby with Rev. John Ragan officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the memorial service at the church on Saturday morning. Interment of cremains will be at Fridhem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Lengby at a later date, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements. Messages of condolence may be sent to carlinhoialmen.com. Nancy Elizabeth Franzen was born in Minneapolis, MN on May 17th, 1936 to Merrill and Dorothy (Stegner) Franzen. She lived in many communities in southern Minnesota, as her father worked for the railroad, graduating from Zumbrota High School in 1954. Nancy worked in Minneapolis for a number of years at Westminster Presbyterian Church. While in Minneapolis, she met the love of her life, Gordon Omodt. They were married on October 8th, 1961. Their only child, Timothy, was born in December of 1962. In 1967, Nancy and her family moved to Gordons hometown of Lengby, MN. She was very active at Fridhem Lutheran Church as Sunday school superintendant and treasurer of the church. She worked for many years at the Polk county extension office, where she helped to set up 4-H programs for the Polk county fair. Nancy also was the city clerk in Lengby for about a decade. Nancy was a member of the Lengby Improvement Club, helping with the summer picnics at the lake. She enjoyed spending time with the Fridhem church quilting ladies. Nancy loved her family and being with her many friends in the Lengby area. On Tuesday, December 6th, 2016 Nancy passed away peacefully at Essentia Health First Care Living Center in Fosston, MN at the age of 80 years. She is survived by her husband, Gordon, Lengby; son Tim (Leanne) Omodt, West Fargo, ND; her brother, David (Dawne) Franzen, Rochester, MN; four grandchildren: Jason, Joshua, Jeremy and Nicole and five great-grandchildren. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Merrill and Dorothy Franzen; her sister, Diane Wicklund, along with three sisters who passed away as young children from muscular dystrophy, Alice, Elaine and Karen. Nancy will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Blessed be her memory
