Minnie Kleven, age 99, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Monday (February 7th) at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday (February 10th) at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with the Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, rural Erskine in the spring. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Wednesday (February 9th) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Erskine. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Minnie Helene Dela was born on January 2, 1912 on a farm near Clearbrook, Minnesota to parents Ole and Anna (Klyberg) Dela. After graduation from Clearbrook High School she worked at Midway Hospital in St. Paul as a floor girl. She also worked in St. Paul caring for the children of a special family. Minnie also worked in Duluth as a waitress and cook as well as in the B & B lunch in McIntosh.Minnie was united in marriage to Thorval Kleven on April 11, 1942 where they made their home in rural Erskine. She worked at the Johnson Rest Home in Erskine for 26 years.Minnie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine where she was active in ladies aid, quilters group, circles and Bible study. She was an avid quilter, loved to crochet and keep her hands busy. She loved gardening, flowers, and playing Scrabble.Minnie passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011 at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine at the age of 99 years, one month and five days.Survivors include three daughters, Arlene (Doug) Morey of Moorhead, MN, Judy (Terry) Munson of Houston, MN, and Sandy (Jerry) Larson of Cold Spring, MN. 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years; four brothers and three sisters.Pallbearers will be Mike Morey, Curtis Morey, Josh Morey, Kevin Morey, Jay Larson, and Todd Munson.
