Mildred "Millie" Anderson, age 95, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Friday, February 27th, at Essentia Health Living Center in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10th, at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston with the Rev. Aage Carlsen officiating. Interment will be in Kingo Lutheran Cemetery, Fosston. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Mildred "Millie" Anderson was the last child of six born to Walter and Mabel (Slaalien) Morgan. Millie was born on March 10, 1919 at Greene, Iowa. She was baptized on September 9, 1920 at Minnesota Valley Lutheran Church in Lac qui Parle County near Louisburg, Minnesota. Miller grew up on various farms throughout the Northwest. In 1928 the Morgan family moved to McIntosh, Minnesota where Millie attended a one-room school house in Lessor Township through the eighth grade. She was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church north of McIntosh on May 19, 1935. After completing the eighth grade, Millie went to work for a family doing household duties and taking care of the children while the mother was in the sanitarium with tuberculosis. Around 1939 Millie was hired as a cook for the Soo Line Railroad. After working for the Soo Line for several years she met a young man named William "Bill" Anderson and they were married on April 15, 1944 in the parsonage of the church at Fosston, Minnesota. After they quit working for the Soo Line they managed a park at Cascade River and also Judge C.R. Magney State Park for many years. Bill and Millie retired in the late 1970's and moved to Fosston, Minnesota.Although Millie and Bill did not have children they had a special bond with all their nephews and nieces.Millie is survived by one sister, Ruth Davidson of Fosston, MN; and numerous nephews and nieces.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, her sisters, Josephine Morgan, Jessie Thompson, Tina Voxland, and one brother, Homer Morgan.
