Mavis Berg

Mavis Berg, age 86, of McIntosh, MN, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, April 12th, at her home. In honoring Mavis's request, there will be no services. Mavis was born in Fosston, Minnesota on May 10, 1932 to parents Henry and Cora (Halseth) Johnson. Mavis grew up in Erskine, Minnesota and graduated from high school in 1950.Mavis was united in marriage to Curtis Berg on October 13, 1951. They lived in the Erskine and McIntosh area where they raised their family.Mavis enjoyed reading, puzzles, gardening (she was very proud of her flowers) and baking cookies for her family. Mavis was known for her stubbornness and her need to take care of everyone. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made everyone feel special and blessed her family with wonderful memories they will always cherish. Mavis passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 86 years.Mavis is survived by her two children, Barb (Steve) Faldet of McIntosh, and Barry (Louise) Berg of Moorhead, MN; daughter-in-law, Melody Berg of Lengby, MN; son-in-law, Jeff Bigelow; grandchildren, Shawn (Allison) of St. Johns, FL, Donavin (Jeri) of Roberts, WI, Melissa (Brad) of McIntosh, Heather (Tim) of McIntosh, Travis of Charlotte, VT, Taylor (Danielle) of Fergus Falls, MN, and Tasha of Fargo, ND; step grandchildren, Justin and Derrick Plante; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Jean of New York; and brother, Dennis of Washington. She will be missed by us all.She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis; her parents; daughter, Pam Bigelow; son, David Berg; brother, Odell Johnson; and sister, Mary Allen.
