Mary Senum

Mary Senum, age 74, of Fosston, MN passed away on Saturday (January 17th) at Toucherette Regional Hospital in Centreville, IL. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday (January 24th) at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. John Dalen officiating. Interment will be in Landsverk Cemetery, Fosston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday (January 23rd) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Mary Lou Marlow was born on February 18, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri to parents Bernard and Mabel Morris Marlow. She attended Ferguson High School and graduated with the class of 1951. She was united in marriage to Ralph Elwood "Spy" Senum on August 8, 1952 at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston. They lived in St. Louis, Missouri for one and a half years before moving to Fosston where she lived the rest of her life, although her final days were spent with her dear sister Bette Jean Gourley in Cahokia, Illinois. Mary was an active member of the community and spent most of her years working for the American Legion Club in Fosston. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and positive influence on people, for her unending generosity and compassion for the people around her, and for her ability to make everyone feel they were part of her family.On Saturday, January 17, 2009, Mary Lou Senum passed away at Toucherette Regional Hospital in Centreville, Illinois at the age of 74 years.Survivors include three sons, Michael of Fosston, William and his wife Cheryl of Apple Valley, MN, and Richard of Inver Grove Heights, MN; one daughter, Bette Brtek and her husband Richard of Blaine, MN; one sister Bette Jean Gourley of Cahokia, IL; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Brian, Rebeka, Janelle, Ashley, Rikka and Jarod; two great grandchildren, Nicole and Madison; and many, many friends.She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brother-in-law.Pallbearers will be Richard Brtek, Richard Hanson, Brian Senum, Todd Tangen, Lee Hanson, and Mike Stewart.
