Mary J. Olson, age 80, of Fosston and formerly from Lengby, MN passed away on Friday, November 9th at Innovis Hospital in Fargo. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 14th at 11:00 AM at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston with Rev. John Dalen officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5: 00 to 6:30 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston, and for one hour before the funeral at the church. Interment will be at Kingo Lutheran Cemetery in Fosston, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and attended school in the Fosston and Bagley area.Mary was united in marriage to John E. Olson on July 23, 1945 in Gonvick, Minnesota. They resided and farmed in Rosebud Township, rural Fosston until 1968 when they moved to Lengby, Minnesota.She cooked and waitressed for many years at Lengby cafes and supper club. Mary also cleaned for many years at the Lengby VFW until she retired because of her health.Mary was a member of Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston.On Friday, November 9, 2007 Mary J. Olson passed away at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota at the age of 80 years.Survivors include her son, J. Duane Olson and his wife Janet of Fosston; three grandchildren, Lynn (Jamie) Olson of Lengby, Joe (Jan) Olson of Fosston and Tami Olson of Fosston; five great grandchildren, Nicole, Brady, Brandon, Joshua and Ryan Olson; one sister-in-law, Edith Vedbraaten of Fosston; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; five brothers, Lawrence, Oscar, Adolph, Edward and Nils; and two sisters, Polly Rodgers and Inga Klicker.
