Mary Malone

Mary Malone, age 95, of Fosston, MN, passed away peacefully on Friday (January 11th) at First Care Living Center in Fosston. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Mary Martha Fitzgerald was born on July 20, 1917 in Crystal Lake, Illinois to parents Michael and Martha (Salzmann) Fitzgerald. Mary attended St. Thomas Elementary School where she met her sweetheart and future husband, R.J. Malone.Mary and Robert were married in Crystal Lake on October 15, 1945. They bought a farm and moved to rural McIntosh in 1972 where they resided until 2009.Mary was always a gracious and loving soul who enjoyed baking and gardening. She always had the coffee on and fresh baked goodies for all who stopped by. Mary and R.J. were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fosston.She is survived by her sons, Robert (Candy) of Crystal Lake, IL, Daniel (Martha) of McIntosh, MN, and Michael (Debbie) of Olathe, KS. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on July 31, 2011; and two brothers, William and Homer Fitzgerald.
