Mary Kinney

Mary Anne Kinney, age 79, of Duluth, MN and formerly of Fosston, MN, passed away on Saturday, April 18th, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. A private family graveside service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery and memorial services will be planned when gathering restrictions are lifted. Arrangements are with Carlin Family Funeral Service of Fosston. Mary Anne Kinney was born on October 22,1940, the daughter of Genevieve & A. Melvin Erlandsen in Sault Ste Marie, MI. She moved with her family to Fargo, ND where she grew up and attended school.She was united in marriage to Wayne Kinney on September 30, 1967. They lived in Grand Forks, ND then near Larimore, ND, raising their two children, Michael and Michele. After Wayne retired, they lived briefly in Grand Forks, Bowman, and Fargo, ND, then settled in Fosston, MN. Wayne passed away in 2011, and in 2016 Mary Anne moved to Duluth, MN, closer to her daughter.She was a most loving spouse, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin & friend to so many. Her genuine cheerfulness was felt by all. She truly took joy in all the little things in life and you rarely saw her without a smile. She lived her faith everyday and it was a great comfort & strength for her.She would love for you all to go out and have a DQ treat and remember her with a smile.She is survived by her son, Michael (Arla) Kinney, Fosston MN; Michelle "Shelly" (Eric) Rustad, Superior, WI. grandson Michael Rustad, Superior WI.Siblings: Betty Monson, Lidgerwood, ND; Mel J.
