Mary Harmon

Mary Lou Harmon, age 81, of Lengby, MN, passed away on Friday, June 10th, at Sanford Health Hospital in Bemidji, MN. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18th, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lengby with the Rev. Gene Lillienthal officiating. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Mary Lou Lord was born on February 14, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa to parents Robert and Etheleen Trisler Lord. She grew up and attended school in Des Moines. She was united in marriage to Robert Harmon on January 1, 1956. After their marriage, they lived in Iowa until 1967 when they moved to a farm south of Lengby. Together, they owned and operated a car lot and shop, a café in Lengby, and also raised livestock. In the mid 1970's, they moved the lot and shop to its current location on Highway 2 east of Lengby where they also resided. Mary Lou loved gardening and canning and in her younger years, enjoyed golfing. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Tom and his wife, Irene, of Lengby; a stepson, Robert Harmon, Jr.; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob"; her parents; and her grandson, Matt.
