Mary Berg, age 93, of Gully, MN, passed away on Wednesday (July 10th) at Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, MN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday (July 16th) at Lund Lutheran Church in Gully with Dawn Hanson officiating. Interment will be in Lund Lutheran Cemetery, Gully. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Mary was born December 24, 1919 to Magnus and Anna (Soderlund) Nelson of Weme. She attended school at Weme and on June 5, 1943 she married Elmer Berg. They lived for awhile in Louisiana where Elmer was stationed during his Army Air Corps training and Mary worked as a housekeeper. In 1945 they made their home on a farm east of Gully and lived there for the remainder of their lives. They farmed, had milk cows and raised chickens. Mary was a 60-year member of the Gully American Legion Auxiliary and also a life long member of Lund Lutheran Church. Mary enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, baking bread, rummage sales, and quilting with the ladies of Lund Church. Mary is survived by her sons Leslie and Larry (both of Gully), her daughter Betty (Grand Forks) and several nieces and nephews.
