Marvin J. Lee, age 84, from McIntosh, MN passed away on Sunday, March 6th at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12th at 2:00 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh with Rev. Aage Carlsen and Gordon Olson officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:30 to 7:30 with a prayer service at 7:30 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, and there will also be reviewal for one hour before the funeral at the church. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural McIntosh, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home serving McIntosh is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Marvin Jerald Lee was born on September 20, 1926 to parents Peder and Sophie (Mjovig) Lee at McIntosh, Minnesota where he grew up and attended rural school.He served in the U.S. Navy from March 14, 1945 to July 19, 1946 and spent most of his service on a naval cruiser. Marvin was united in marriage to Clarice Edwards on November 20, 1946 at Salem Lutheran Church in Knute Township, rural McIntosh. They made their home in the Condon, Oregon area for a few years. In 1957, they purchased their farm north of McIntosh where they farmed until retirement in 1989 and moved into McIntosh. In his younger years, Marvin also worked at Brekke Standard and Hoffard Chrysler-Plymouth Dealership in McIntosh. Marvin enjoyed driving tractor on the farm, and winters in Texas for 25 years. He served on the Salem Church Board, the Land-O-Lakes Board, and the East Polk County Fair Board. Marvin and Clarice were honored in 1983 with the Valley Farmer and Homemaker Award, and the Valley Dairyman of the Year for Polk County in 1989, and they are past recipients of the Soil Conservation Award for East Polk County.On Sunday, March 6, 2011 Marvin passed away at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota at the age of 84 years, five months, and 14 days.He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Clarice "Dolly" Lee of McIntosh; two sons, Jim (Susan) Lee and Mark (Joan) Lee all of McIntosh; five grandchildren, Christine (Jerry) Weber, Philip (Ashlee) Lee, Rebecca Lee, Joseph Lee, and Samantha Lee; one brother, Sheldon Lee of Independence, MO; two sisters, Dagny Eck of Hibbing, MN and Gyda (Richard) Lunak of Fertile, MN; two sisters-in-law, Helen Johnson of Grand Forks, ND and Shirley (Frankie) Cyr of Oklee, MN; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ernest, Bernt, Laverne and Harvey; three brothers-in-law, Arlo Johnson, Robert Edwards and Eddie Edwards and his wife, Myrtle; two nieces; and one nephew.
