Mark Polley, age 67, of Winger, MN, passed away on Sunday, March 20th, at his home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Erskine with the Rev. Don Edlund officiating. Interment will be in Union Lake Cemetery, rural Winger, at a later date. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mark Andrew Polley was born on July 6, 1954, in Fosston, Minnesota to parents John and Mildred (West) Polley. He attended and graduated from Fertile-Beltrami High School in 1972. In 1974, Mark and Patricia (Johnson) Polley were united in marriage at Faaberg Lutheran Church in Rindal, Minnesota. In November of 1975, their daughter, Shannon Marie was born. Mark was a member of Union Lake Church. He worked road construction as a finish dozer operator from 1975 to 1996 in various places throughout Minnesota and North Dakota. From 1997 to 2016, Mark worked on the pipeline with various companies throughout the United States as a D9 dozer operator, clearing and finishing right-of-ways for the pipeline.
In December of 2016, Mark retired from the pipeline. In his younger years, and on, he loved the outdoors which included hunting, trapping, and fishing. Mark was a man of all trades and loved to keep busy. In his greater years, Mark enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Mark is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Winger; daughter, Shannon (Polley) Scott and her children, Dawson Brevik and Megan Brevik of Thief River Falls, MN; brother, John Polley of Perham, MN; nephews, John Scott (Stacy) Polley of Warren, MN, Christopher (Erica) Polley of Hawley, MN; along with great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred (West) Polley; aunts, Doris (West) Gillespie, Marjorie (Polley) Holmstrom; sister-in-law, Caryn Polley; uncles, Roger Polley and Wesley Polley; and great aunt, Emma (West) Throne.
