Marjorie Anderson, age 86, of Fosston, MN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 23rd at First Care Nursing Home in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 31st at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston with Rev. John Dalen officiating. Interment will be at Kingo Lutheran Cemetery, Fosston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Wednesday at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Nelson was born in Ada, MN to Norman and Inga (Anderson) Nelson on June 1, 1923. Marge grew up in Lockhart, MN and as a child she enjoyed spending time on her grandparent's farm. She was a member of the last graduating class of Beltrami High School in 1940. She then went on to attend Beauty School in Fargo, ND. Upon graduation, she went to work as a hairdresser in Ada and Fertile, MN. On February 8, 1946 she married LeRoy (Roy) Anderson and they moved to Fosston, MN. Marge was a hairdresser for 52 years. In 1962 Roy and Marge bought the A & W Drive Inn in Fosston and later retired in 1982. Marge continued to work as a hairdresser until she was 70 years old.Marge was active in Kingo Lutheran Church and was a founding member of the Ladies Sewing Club. She was an avid gardener and was proud of winning "Yard of the Week" several times. Marge loved to dance, laugh and always had a smile on her face.On Wednesday, December 23, 2009 Marge passed away peacefully at First Care Nursing Home in Fosston, where she had been a resident since May of this year, at the age of 86 years.She is survived by her children; Craig (Thurlene) Anderson of Hermosa Beach, CA, Valerie (Butch) Altepeter of Minden, NV and Renae (Ron) Rodriguez of Minden, NV. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Violet (Bud) Denison of West Seattle, WA and Dorothy (Everett) Wright of West Seattle, WA; and brother-in-law, Cecil Zarling of Fertile, MN.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband LeRoy (Roy) Anderson; and her sister, Eleanor Zarling. She will be profoundly missed by her family and many friends.
