The family relocated to the Fosston area when she was seven years old where she attended school and graduated in 1961. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Raymond Roy on August 3, 1963 at the Catholic church in Fosston, MN. They lived briefly in Fertile, Erskine, Crookston, Fosston, and Lengby before making their home outside of Fosston. Marilyn worked at the Fosston DAC, Magelssen Elementary School, and Fosston High School. She worked in the High School Principal's office when she retired in 2007 after 29 years with the Fosston School District. Her family was the most cherished and important part of her life. Her favorite past time was camping, camping, and more camping; especially with family and friends. The highlight was enjoying a good campfire at the end of every day. She loved to fish, including fishing trips to Canada. Bird watching, Gopher and Sioux sports, Fosston Greyhounds, Fantasy Racing, Wheel of Fortune, Sudoko, and reading were among the many things she enjoyed. She was so many things to so many people and touched everyone with her kindness, smiles and big heart.
