Marian Finkle, age 83, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Wednesday (April 21st) at McIntosh Senior Living in McIntosh. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday (April 26th) at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh with Pastor Ryan Rasmussen officiating. Interment will be in St. Luke's Cemetery, McIntosh. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home, serving McIntosh and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Marian Ruth Vaatveit was born on September 19, 1926 in McIntosh, Minnesota to parents Engvald and Clara (Aaseng) Vaatveit. She grew up in McIntosh and graduated from McIntosh High School in 1944. Following school, Marian moved to Waukegan, Illinois. It was here that she met her future husband, William Finkle, and they were married on May 6, 1946. Bill, Marian and their children resided in several places, including Illinois, Iowa, and Minneapolis before settling in McIntosh in 1968. Bill passed away on December 22, 1997. Marian continued to live in McIntosh, living most recently at Poplar Meadows in McIntosh. Marian was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh and the McIntosh V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards and visiting with friends. In her later years, Marian found great enjoyment following the lives of her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Marian passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at McIntosh Senior Living at the age of 83 years.Survivors include her children, Cindy (Al) Johnson of Longmont, CO, Sandie (Lloyd) Hoff of Bemidji, MN, William, Jr. (Sue) of Rawlins, WY, Robert of Fargo, ND, and Linda (Paul) Kiecker of McIntosh. 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Michael; her parents; three brothers, Gene, Micky, and Bob; and infant sister, Evelyn.Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the McIntosh VFW Auxiliary.
