Margaret Sten

Margaret Sten, age 77, of Mentor, MN, passed away on Friday (September 20th) at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston, MN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday (September 24th) at Rodnes Lutheran Church, rural Erskine with the Rev. Peter Satren officiating. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, rural Mentor. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Margaret Della Williams was born on January 7, 1936 in Pembina County, Cavalier Township to parents Lydia and Fred Williams. Margaret was married to Charles Sten and together they lived in Tabor and East Grand Forks and later in Mentor, Minnesota where they resided for many years. Margaret drove potato and beet trucks during harvest and school bus for the Mentor school district for a number of years. She loved children and her dogs as well as her many friends. Margaret lost her beloved Charles in 1996. After Charles' death she moved back to her farm west of Mentor where she resided with the help of her friend Don Williams until she became a resident of Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in August of 2008.While living at the Villa she was blessed to have great nurses and caregivers, one she became especially close to was Marissa and her family, she also loved to visit and was blessed to have many visitors. Margaret passed away surrounded by her close friends on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home at the age of 77 years.She will be sadly missed by many.
