Margaret Pearson, age 89, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Sunday (February 3rd) at McIntosh Senior Living in McIntosh. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday (February 13th) at Salem Lutheran Church in McIntosh with the Rev. Aage Carlsen officiating. Interment will be in the Baptist Cemetery, rural McIntosh at a later date. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Margaret Marie Abeldgaard was born on January 27, 1924 at her grandparents home in Sletten Township, Minnesota to parents Peter and Kate (Schacher) Abeldgaard. She moved with her parents to western North Dakota. At the age of thirteen, she returned to Minnesota spending her teenage years working between McIntosh and Grand Forks.She was united in marriage to Ray Pearson on November 21, 1945 at the Salem parsonage. Ray and Margaret together ran Pearson's Variety Store until 1977. "Grandma Maggie" was known for her wonderful cooking and baking. Her apple pie was the best ever! She loved her grandchildren and the Lee children, feeding and teaching them at the same time. Knitting, sewing and playing piano (by ear) were also special gifts she had and shared with many others. She was a member of Salem Church all of her married life. She is survived by one son, Roger (Karen) Pearson of Mandan, ND; daughter, Myrna (Blace) Schmidt of Cotton Lake, MN; grandchildren, Heidi (Bryon) Horner, Roberta (Chris) Hambrick, Emily (Ryan) Schafer, Pamela (Shayne) Davidson and Paul (Nicole) Schmidt. She was also blessed with eight great grandchildren.Also surviving is one sister, Edna (Ole) Arneberg; four brothers, Harold Abeldgaard, Clarence (Geraldine) Abeldgaard, Peter (Marilyn) Abeldgaard, and Lloyd (Della) Abeldgaard; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; sisters, Lettie Kisner, Doris Christianson, and Betty Larson.
