Lynda Faye Erickson was born on September 21, 1948, in Fosston, Minnesota to parents Oscar and Doris (Weberg) Erickson. She grew up near Fosston and graduated from Fosston High School in 1966.
Lynda was united in marriage to John Wayne Loiland on June 13, 1966. After their marriage, they lived in the Twin Cities and Lynda worked in area nursing homes. They left the Twin Cities in 1968 and moved to Red Lake Falls, then Fosston, and eventually buying Lynda’s family’s home place in 1970.
Lynda and John worked as a team in life and business. They did everything together. They established Mac Auto Body and J&L Auto Sales which they operated until retirement. Though Lynda lived with multiple sclerosis for much of her adult life, she lived life to its fullest; working, raising children and caring for others. Lynda was the type of person that took care of everyone else first. She would gladly lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Lynda also fondly remembered and enjoyed the many motorcycle trips that she and John went on out west with family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her son, Gary (Kelle) Loiland of Brainerd, MN; and daughter, Shannon (Jerry) Miller of Fosston; two granddaughters, Shayla and Shyanne Loiland; three siblings, Gary Erickson of Dalton, MN, Lyles Nelson of Westminster, CO, and Luanne (Lenny) Devos of Crookston, MN. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, on July 24, 2017; her parents; sister-in-law, Cynthia Erickson; and brother-in-law, Ken Nelson.
