Luverne Fore, age 88, of Gully, MN, passed away on Monday (November 15th) at the Neilson Place in Bemidji, MN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (November 20th) at Lund Lutheran Church in Gully with Pastor Michael Sletto officiating. Interment will be in Lund Lutheran Cemetery, rural Gully. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday (November 19th) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and message of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Luverne Marion Brovold was born on October 8, 1922 in Johnson Township, near Gully, Minnesota to parents Jacob and Thora Brovold. She was baptized and confirmed in Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Gully. She grew up in this rural setting attending Wildwood Country School, Fosston High School and graduated from Oklee High School in 1940. Luverne continued her education at the Teacher's Training Department in Thief River Falls and later earned her degree at Bemidji State College.She taught in rural schools for four years before her marriage to Arlie Fore on June 15, 1945. They moved to Gully where Arlie was employed and Luverne did bookwork at the Gully elevator for one year. She later returned to teaching in the Gully, Trail and Gonvick areas, where she taught until her retirement in 1986. She thought it was a privilege to have taught three generations of several local families.Luverne was a member of the Lund Lutheran Church, the Lund WELCA and the Gully American Legion Auxiliary. She served as church treasurer and WELCA secretary for many years. She belonged to the Lund Ladies quilting group and also quilted at home making quilts for her grandchildren.She enjoyed sports and followed the local games. She and her husband Arlie attended as many local sports activities as they could. She watched the Vikings, Twins and Timberwolves when they were televised. Family was important to her and she looked forward to being together for holidays and special occasions, with lots of good food. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren looked forward to her chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and the special birthday cakes she made for all family gatherings.Luverne is survived by her daughters, Lauren (Steven) Hughes of Gonvick, and Renae Clemenson of Bemidji; son, Todd (Mary) Fore of Gully; son-in-law Dennis Clemenson of Bemidji; seven grandchildren, Shannon (Dan) Alto of Bemidji, Kerry (John) Olson of St. Michael, Ben Hughes of Bemidji, Heather (Brent) Guyan of Litchfield, Matthew Clemenson of Bemidji, Michael (Darcy) Fore of Otsego, and Elizabeth Fore of Bismarck; five great grandchildren, Zachary and Nicholas Olson, Katie and Nathan Alto, and Samuel Guyan; two sisters, Audrey Siverson and Esther Rindahl, both of Fosston; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Fore of East Grand Forks; as well as many other relatives.She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie in 2006; her parents Jacob and Thora Brovold; brothers, Arnold, Elmer, Lloyd and Walter Brovold; sisters, Mildred Bergh, Doris Rindahl, Verna Gore; and several aunts and uncles, nephews and cousins.Pallbearers will be Dan Alto, John Olson, Brent Guyan, Matt Clemenson, Michael Fore, and Benjamin Hughes.
