Louisa Swenson

Louisa Swenson, age 91, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Thursday (February 7th) at First Care Hospital in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday (February 12th) at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lengby with the Rev. Shawn Stafford officiating. Interment will be in Cross Lake Lutheran Cemetery, rural Fosston, in the spring. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and sympathy messages may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Louisa Berthina Jensen was born on September 16, 1916 the daughter of Hartvig and Gjertrud (Morkve) Jensen in Platt, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school in Platt. Louisa met and married Hans M. Swenson in 1934 and moved to the Swenson farm in Columbia Township. They had one son, Edwin (Ed).Louisa retired from the Technical College, working in food services at Crookston.Louisa is survived by one son, Ed (Pat) Swenson of rural Fosston; granddaughter, Linda Swenson of Trippler Army Medical Center in Hawaii; sister, Margaret Wilcox of McMinnville, OR; brothers, John (Kitty) Jensen of Eugene, OR, Paul Jensen of Las Vegas, NV, Chris Jensen of Yakima, WA, and Lenord (Irene) Jensen of McMinnville, OR. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband in August of 1988; her parents; foster parents; five brothers and two sisters.Honorary Pallbearers will be Spring Lake V.F.W.
